CROCODILE PARK - TORREMOLINOS.

A day out visiting the Crocodile Park in Torremolinos is a must and highly recommended. Once there you will find something for all the family to enjoy and by the time you leave, you will have acquired quite an education and understanding of these fascinating creatures. 5 minutes from Torremolinos centre Taxi service and parking.	The entrance to the Crocodile park is built like an old African fortress and once inside you find yourself wandering around an extensive African village.
During December, January and February most of the Crocodiles can be found in their ¨winter accommodation¨ which is similar to a giant greenhouse. Over 300 crocs can be viewed from babies to the Big Nile crocs that are 5 meters long and weigh more than 500 kilograms. The most impressive of all was ¨Paco¨ the largest crocodile in Europe and over 80 years of age! The babies, which are kept snug and warm in the nursery can be viewed separately.
	When not in their ¨winter accommodation¨ the crocodiles can be viewed in various locations scattered in and around the ¨African village¨. There are guided tours and live demonstrations with experienced keepers at various times throughout the day. When I visited the crocodiles it was during January and they were in their winter accommodation. The keeper (pictured on the left) gave a brilliant ¨talk¨ and excellent demonstration, he spoke both Spanish and English and was more than keen to answer the many questions people had to ask.
After a talk and demonstration, you get the chance to hold one of the many baby crocodiles that are bred at the park so don't forget your camera. Other facilities within the park include: Bird reservation. Mini zoo with west African dwarf goats, racoons etc. African museum. Cafe bar/restaurant.
